Dynamic metadata

Dynamic metadata can be added to Xautomation to show news, promos or other text messages.

 

On Xautomation:

 

1.Click Edit > Define > Dynamic Metadata.

2.Click on New.

3.Select Text in the Type option.

4.Enter a Title and a Short Title.
The short title is used as crawl.02's <HEADING>.

5.Choose the Content.
It can be entered manually or left empty to be updated later via RSS feed.

6.Click OK to close the Metadata window.

7.Click OK to close the Dynamic Metadata window.

 

It is possible to insert the content of a dynamic metadata via RSS feed.

 

On Xautomation:

 

1.Click Accessori > Xwebcopy.

2.On Xwebcopy click on the RSS page.

3.Click Insert to configure a new RSS download.

4.Enter the URL RSS of news or text content.

5.Enter User and Password if necessary.

6.Click Advanced Scheduling.
Set the start date and time of the scheduling, deadline, recurrence and daily download frequency.

7.Click OK to confirm.

8.Enter a Schedule title and specifying the dynamic metadata to be updated at the end of the download via the Edit field.

9.Click OK and activate the RSS download in automatic mode pulsante_automatico.

 

 

To download immediately without waiting for the next scheduling:

1.Click Run pulsante_esegui and verify correct operation.
Check the new metadata content from Xwebcopy or Xautomation.

2.On Edit > Settings > RSS enable the option Start RSS in Automatic mode, enable the elements to be included in the scrolling text and indicate which is the separator character for the news.

3.Click OK and minimize Xwebcopy.

Xwebcopy must always be active to allow automatic download.

 

 

It is possible to broadcast the scrolling text from the Xautomation video commands.

 

On Xautomation:

1.Enable the video command bar by clicking Video > Show video commands.

2.Click the Show Crawl 2 pulsante_mostraCrawl button to select the dynamic metadata to show with <CRAWL2>.
The window allows you to set a Duration or to enable Ignore Duration to keep the crawl always visible.

3.Click OK and test the crawl.

4.Click Hide Crawl 2 pulsante_nascondiCrawl if you want to hide the scrolling text immediately.

If the metadata is updated by Xwebcopy and the crawl is already on the air, any changes appear as soon as the scrolling text has completed a complete cycle.

 

The scrolling text can be scheduled for a specific day and time.

 

On Xautomation:

1.On the Schedules page, choose the day and enter a new time.

2.Select the time and click Events > Video > Show Crawl.

3.Choose the dynamic metadata to show.

If a crawl is already active, any subsequent crawl schedules hide the scrolling text to show the new dynamic metadata. To hide the crawl you can use a new schedule.

 

Dynamic metadata can be associated with individual tracks in the library.

Only in this case the scrolling text is shown on the Playout using <CRAWL1>.

 

On Xautomation:

1.Right click on one or more tracks and open the Properties window.

2.In the Video section, enable the Dynamic Metadata option and select the metadata.

3.Enable the Enable crawl option and select Dynamic metadata.

4.Click Apply, then Close.

 

On XautoTV it is possible to replace the separator character of the news with an image.

Enable the Replace crawl separator option on Edit > Settings > General.

Then indicate the character to be replaced in the Old field and the path of the image in the New field.

Start playback on Xautomation and check the changes made on the CG and on the library.

Remember to save the library at the end of the works.
